FLL Hangar Renovation

January 2024

Located at the Fort Lauderdale Airport, this hangar renovation for a private client and federal agency required the addition of a mezzanine space for storage and maintenance of aircrafts in this space. The addition of the 3,000 SF mezzanine required the addition of structural and MEP components for the new mezzanine as well as the addition of three stairs, the relocation of existing MEP systems in place, and the addition of a fall protection system for maintenance of aircrafts and helicopters that are serviced in this area.

The Project Manager job responsibilities included meeting with client and federal agency to understand priorities and scope of work, managing the design process through the deliverable requirements set forth by the client, and coordinating with consultants and federal agency to ensure all requirements were met . This project included code related complexities that required multiple meetings with the AHJ and permitting agencies to be able to meet the client’s project goal.
