MCO Summerhouse Market and Restaurant

November 2021

Located at the Orlando International Airport, this grab and go market and full service restaurant is a California inspired eatery in the heart of the newly constructed Terminal C at MCO. This two-story 7,200 SF concession includes a full service bar, a grab and go coffee bar, a commercial kitchen with self-contained cooler and freezer, and a passenger elevator. Brand involvement and coordination with the airport authority was a top priority in this project.

The Project Manager job responsibilities included managing the design and deliverables process with client, brand and airport authorities to ensure project was permitted on time and construction was completed on schedule and on budget. The passenger elevator in this project sat in an elevated shaft above a tug road on the apron level, which created design complexities for the daily ramp operations. The design and coordination of the additional steel needed for the elevated shaft required the coordination of AHJ, airport authorities, elevator inspectors and contractors to ensure the tug road would remain operational and the elevator would operate as intended, which were all successful upon completion of this project.
